A little history:
Brewster Massachusetts located on the north side of the Cape. Settled around 1656 as a northeastern parish of the Cape Cod town of Yarmouth. Incorporated as a town of its own in 1803 after separating from Yarmouth in 1693 as the northern parish of the town of Harwich. The town was named after Colonist William Brewster who was one of the leaders of the Pilgrims. Mr. Brewster was born in Scrooby, England in 1567 and came over on the Mayflower.
Known as a Sea Captains town Brewster has many wonderful Historic Homes, B&Bs’, Antique Shops and galleries along the Old Kings Highway (Route 6A). With many beautiful beaches, NickersonState Park, nationally acclaimed Captains Golf Course and the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Brewster in Bloom brings beautiful New England spring weather together with an enormous arts & crafts show, a festive parade, the annual Chowder Fest, and many other special events.
