First settled in 1639, Dennis Massachusetts was first settled in 1639. Originally the town was part of the town of Yarmouth. The town was finally incorporated in 1793. Our town was named an all American town in 1978. The town was named after a favorite minister Josiah Dennis whose home was is located on 77 Nobscusset Road off the historical Olde King James Highway.
The town has five villages, Dennis, East Dennis, South Dennis, West Dennis and Dennisport. It has beautiful beaches on both Nantucket Sound Nantucket Sound and Cape Cod Bay offering spectacular sunsets. The Cape Cod Rail Trail begins in Dennis- it's a lot of fun!
