The Academy of Performing Arts is located at 120 Main Street Orleans, Cape Cod, MA 02653 Incorporated in 1797, Orleans Massachusetts was originally inhabited by the Manamoyick Indians. Nicholas Snow purchased the right to the town to establish the first permanent settlement from Mattaguason, sachem of the Manamoyicks. Around the 19th century cod and mackerel fishing and shell fishing began to supplement and support the growing Orleans economy. In the early 1900’s summer vacation homes and residents began to bring modern changes to the town and its economy. Beautiful Skatet Beach and Rock Harbor offer boaters and beach lovers access to Cape Cod Bay while sandy Nauset Beach, part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, boarders the Atlantic Ocean. The town also has frontage on Pleasant Bay and Little Pleasant Bay with beautiful scenery, great for canoeing or kayaking! Make sure you don't miss the Cape Cod Rail Trail!
